On 18 April 2022, China Express Logistics signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Xi'an with Sinotrans (China Merchants Group) and Sinotrans Logistics North-West Co., Ltd., launching deep collaboration under the "new-business-format" framework. The agreement bridged China Express Logistics' hands-on north-west operating capability with Sinotrans' national and global network for the first time at scale.
What does "new business format" mean?
Traditional logistics cooperation is typically single-lane sub-contracting or warehouse leasing. Under this agreement, "new business format" means end-to-end supply-chain collaboration covering RFQ intake, solution design, capacity dispatch, warehousing-and-distribution execution, IT data feedback and reconciliation — all performed jointly.
First wave of projects
- Shaanxi Auto special-vehicle trunk haulage: Xi'an → 28 nationwide provincial project sites
- China Railway Construction Corp. long-term promotional-materials project: Xi'an → 80+ project sites along the construction corridor
- AVIC aerospace-equipment haulage: Xi'an → core production lines in Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu
- Shaanxi Coal Group spare-parts haulage: across the major Shaanxi mining areas plus nationwide reallocation
Why SOE endorsement matters
Sinotrans and China Merchants Group, as century-old central state-owned enterprises, impose rigorous qualification, compliance and credit standards on their supply-chain partners. Passing their multi-round audits and on-site reviews to enter the approved-supplier white-list is itself the strongest possible endorsement of China Express Logistics' 18-year operating record.
