On 25 September 2008, Shaanxi China Express Logistics Co., Ltd. (Unified Social Credit Code 91610135677938543U) was registered in the Xi'an Economic and Technological Development Zone, with its core business positioned as "north-west regional LTL plus trunk haulage". This is the starting point of China Express Logistics' 18-year history.
Why 2008? Why Xi'an?
The year 2008 coincided with the approval of the Xi'an International Port Area as a national-level development zone and with the second decade of the national "Develop the West" programme, which began funnelling major support into Xi'an's transformation into an inland gateway. China Express Logistics' founding team saw clearly that the north-west logistics market had long been served by proxy through eastern and coastal majors, that hands-on local operators were in short supply, and that a 10-year window of deep-rooted opportunity was opening up.
From LTL beginnings to today
- 2008: launched local LTL and trunk haulage in Xi'an with a self-owned fleet of six trucks
- 2010: founded the China Express Logistics Alliance, beginning consolidation of small and mid-sized carriers
- 2018: entered the specialised fire-safety-and-security equipment transport segment
- 2018: obtained first-batch central-SOE supplier qualifications from AVIC, China Railway Construction Corp. and Shaanxi Coal Group
- 2021: received strategic-cooperation endorsement from AVIC NW Supply
- 2022: signed agreements with China Merchants Group, Sinotrans and Sinotrans Logistics North-West
- 2023: the China-Europe Rail "Chang'an" service exceeded 800 trains for the year, and revenue passed the 500-million-yuan mark
- 2025: completed division-level restructuring and entered a new phase of platform-based collaboration
