On 1 September 2021, China Express Logistics signed a long-term strategic cooperation agreement in Xi'an with AVIC NW Supply Co., a subsidiary of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). This was the first central-SOE-level long-term supply-chain endorsement secured by China Express Logistics, and from that point on China Express Logistics was formally listed in the AVIC qualified-supplier register.
Scope of cooperation
- Haulage of aerospace equipment and large-piece cargo from Xi'an to 24 aviation-equipment production lines across China
- Unified trunk service for the centralised procurement of AVIC NW Supply's subsidiaries
- A dedicated white-list logistics-solution channel for suppliers inside the AVIC ecosystem
- Joint participation in national strategic projects (already delivered: ancillary-equipment haulage for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Beijing Daxing International Airport)
The knock-on effect of SOE endorsement
After being admitted to AVIC's white-list, China Express Logistics successively obtained supplier qualifications from China Aerospace (Xi'an AeroEngine), China Railway Construction Corp., CCCC Second Highway Engineering Bureau, Sinohydro 15th Engineering Bureau, China Datang Bachiao Thermal Power Plant and China Mobile. Between 2021 and 2023, central-SOE supply-chain customers accounted for over 30% of total revenue every year.
