On 20 July 2021, Zhengzhou in Henan Province was struck by once-in-a-millennium torrential rain, causing severe flooding: the metro shut down, streets were submerged and millions of residents were trapped.
The North-West Operations Centre of China Express Logistics responded immediately. Setting out from Shaanxi, within 48 hours the team delivered the first 30 tonnes of relief supplies — drinking water, instant food, medicines, waterproof tents and disinfectant — safely to the front-line command post in Zhengzhou.

Over the following ten days, China Express Logistics shipped more than 200 tonnes of relief supplies in total across 60+ vehicle dispatches, fully pro-bono with no freight charge.
As the floodwaters receded and the city moved into recovery, China Express Logistics continued to handle supply dispatching and the haulage of post-disaster reconstruction materials, providing two months of sustained logistics support to disaster-hit residents and businesses in Henan.

For its work during this operation, China Express Logistics was recognised as a model public-welfare enterprise — a "Storm-Defying Couriers".
